Comets & WHALES
Comets point to the future and the whale paintings are a glance back over our shoulders at the economic activity of the early 19th century New Zealanders.

In these paintings, liquid paint has been dropped into lakes of water and then dried off quickly, leaving swirls of pigment specks on the canvas surface.    The imagery is drawn across the top with a brush and conte crayon.
